PLEASE HELP!!!

PLEASE HELP! We are in desperate need to reduce the size of our herd. I am recovering from thyroid cancer and do not have the energy or resources to keep up the 15 huacaya alpacas we have on our 24 acre farm in Jackson, GA. Can't breed my three year old maiden

And I am so disappointed! She is beautiful. Had the vet examine her today because we thought she was bred at another farm, progesterone in 3 range and nothing. Same thing this year except the stud is at our farm as we watched how frustrated he became over several attempts to breed her. She has the smallest area to urinate and does so just fine but vaginal opening is so small cannot even put a small pinky finger in to check her.

Securing a llama for shearing standing up?

Hi all,

We have alpacas and no llamas. However, my dad acquired a young male llama with his goats and he needs to be shorn. Of course, since we shear our alpacas ourselves using a table, he has asked us to help shear him. We have given this male shots, by one of us holding his head 'squeezing' him in a triangle 'chute' made of two panels. A new cria - and what a birth

During the late spring and early summer, I always let the girls out in my front yard to graze the grass down so I don't have to mow (and it helps my feed bill!). Last night I put everyone away - at around 9 pm. My girl Cinnamon was acting kind of weird. New Adventure

So, after 3 years of not being a member of Florida Alpaca Breeders Association, (FABA) I not only signed up but also am now the chairperson for the 2011 Halter show and figured I would also run for President.

I will soon eat, breath and sleep FABA, well, I am already, LOL. I love living and raising alpacas in Florida and I think with just some organization, time, being the voice of the members, patience and some fresh ideas, I am looking forward to it!

more alpacas to tempt me

We have just finished our third Quarantine of 15 alpaca from Australia. It is very interesting to see the improved fleeces every shipment is better than the one before most of this last load are so nice and so consistent in their over all fineness.
