- My husband and I care for all the alpacas ourselves. We know each ones personality and interact with them each day. We lease our farm (Ottsville, PA) from my aunt and are saving to buy our own farm in NE PA, with the hopes of enough land to open a rescue and sanctuary for alpacas. We also own "Babydoll" mini sheep.

- Ahh - your over Leigh way, right? I'm in Lancaster county - about 30 miles southeast of Reading (Berks Co) or 30 southwest of Harrisburg. Would you happen to know Kit Hower? She's over that way too. We only raise Peruvian suris - I do have a token huacaya gelding though - Elmo! :-) Lititz is a small town, 250 years old, that is a pretty big tourist stop. Lots of old shops downtown - great to spend a day just walking around.

- Hello Linda, The breeder has been very supportive. I found this forum at 4 AM in a panic... I didn't want to call him at that time. Also, I've been embarrassed at times to ask questions that I thought might be 'dumb'. The alpaca that died had always lay down more than the other's. He kept to himself, I'd had the Vet out to check on him before... Everybody (including me) thought I was worrying too much and over-reacting. I've learned so much from the experience.
