You need to give CD & T's. You need to give the one recommended for your area by your vet, either 5-way or 8-way. For a maiden, give it 30 days before you breed her and 30 days before birth. From her birth to breeding age use the same brand and keep…

My husband and I have raised alpacas for 6 years and thoroughly enjoy meeting other owners and breeders. I also raise chihuahuas and we spend most of our time restoring our 100-year old farmhouse and working with the alpacas, and showing and going to seminars.

Not to worry, I have come a long way since then!. I have found a wonderful Canadian breeder who I am in contact with everyday Thank you meadowview Alpacas!. We are at the fencing/pasture stage as we build our new farm. The breeders have invited us to stay with them for a few days to learn the basics of farm life and have helped us with everything under the sun. We are currently working on finances and we live & breath alpacas. Thanks for the tips I love the northwest alpaca site. Everyone who is interested in alpacas should read your comment. If we followed the advice it would help ensure our success as newbies. Thank you again.

Hi Jannette-Yes, I am a member of the Southeast Alpaca Association. My vet hopes to be able to attend the Dr. Bravo seminar...schedule permitting. He has started construction on his new hospital so spare time (what little he didn't have) is nearly non-existant!

Hello Jannette, thank you for the photographs comment. I am fully aware of how difficult it can sometimes be to take a good photograph of alpacas. Such a rare occasion to find one willing to stand still, smile and pose for the camera. I noticed a couple of your photos look fairly professional. Someone on your farm seems to have some photographic ability...or just a nice camera? ;)
I've been tossing around the idea of starting some kind of alpaca photography business for fun....but yikes, I'm afraid much more practice would be needed before carried out. Thank you for the hello, though, and best wishes and happy holidays!

Hey Jannette,
Congratulation on the new addition. I can't wait to see him in the show ring next year. Lance has had some very nice cria this year. We think Kodiak has gotten his first female pregnant. Vet will come out next week to confirm. Kodiak's fiber is coming back great. I've had several large farms interested in him but they all want to see what he puts on the ground before they commit.
The ankle is doing much better. I still have some pain but at least I'm out of the cast and got rid of the crutches. The high ankle sprain is giving me more trouble now than the broken bone.
I wanted to go to OABA this week but needed to get more fencing up.
Did Keith take Sultan? Is he breeding yet?( talking about Sultan:) ) I am brokering a girl that has nothing but champions when bred to MacGyver or MacGyver offspring. I thought Sultan would be a good match.
Talk to ya later,
Kenny

Hey there! Isn't this exciting so many new people have joined this site that you are now listed on page 2 instead of page 1!! I know this is alpaca social... but I would love to see your chihuahuas. I have 3, everyone knows you can't have just 1!

Hi Jannette
That's great! How many championships does Sultan have now? How old is he? We are planning on the lA Deep South show next month. We've never been up to any of the more northern shows.
